As of June 2026, more than 40 communities in the county have at least one public charging station. Browse by region below, or jump straight to the full A–Z table.

⚡ County-wide initiative: Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins announced in July 2025 that the county will reimburse municipalities up to 50% of EV charger installation costs, accelerating deployment to nearly every community by 2027. Cities like Yonkers, Dobbs Ferry, Scarsdale, and White Plains have already received the most new ports from this program.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions
How many cities and towns in Westchester County have EV charging stations?
As of June 2026, at least 40 cities, towns, villages, and hamlets in Westchester County have at least one public EV charging station. Westchester County’s $5 million infrastructure initiative (2025) is actively adding new stations to every municipality, with 24 communities specifically targeted in the first phase. By 2027, virtually every community in the county is expected to have public charging access.
Which Westchester town has the most EV charging ports?
White Plains has the most ports among individual cities (75+ ports across 7 locations). Scarsdale leads in per-capita density with 66 ports across 3 locations. Dobbs Ferry has the most ports per square mile with 60 ports across 5 locations — all near the Metro-North station. For the most DC fast charging, Yonkers Ridge Hill is the winner with Tesla Supercharger (18 stalls) and Electrify America (350kW) side by side.
Where is free EV charging available in Westchester County?
Peekskill currently offers the best free EV charging in the county — city-owned ChargePoint Level 2 stations at Riverfront Green Park and Park Street municipal lot are free with a 4-hour courtesy limit. Some retail locations across the county offer complimentary Level 2 charging for customers. Check PlugShare and filter by “Free” for the most current list of no-cost stations.
Can I charge my EV at Westchester Metro-North commuter lots?
Yes — several Metro-North commuter station parking lots in Westchester now have Level 2 EV chargers specifically for all-day commuter charging. Best Metro-North charging lots include: Dobbs Ferry, Irvington, Hastings-on-Hudson, Scarsdale, Tarrytown, and Port Chester. Leave your EV plugged in all day while you commute to Manhattan by train — a typical Level 2 charger adds 20–35 miles of range per hour.
What EV charging apps should I use in Westchester?
PlugShare is the best single app — it shows all networks on one map with real-time user check-ins. For network-specific apps: ChargePoint (most stations in Westchester), Electrify America (Ridge Hill + Costco New Rochelle), Tesla (Supercharger locations), and Blink (municipal and parking garage stations). Download all of them before your first trip and add payment methods so you’re ready to charge anywhere.
Is Westchester County adding more EV charging stations in 2026?
Yes — significantly. Westchester County’s $5 million EV infrastructure program (announced July 2025) is funding 79 new charging sites and 750+ new ports across 24 municipalities. The county reimburses up to 50% of installation costs for municipalities. Major expansions already underway or planned include Yonkers (125 municipal ports), White Plains, Scarsdale, and Dobbs Ferry. By 2027, every Westchester community is expected to have public EV access.
